Privacy policy

We collect as little as we need to send you the right contracts. We don't sell your information, and we don't show ads.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address, and your business name if you give it.
- Your preferences: the trades and areas you pick, and whether email alerts are on.
- Your consent: when and where you agreed to receive email from us. Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires us to keep this.
- Google sign-in: if you continue with Google, we receive your email address and an account ID from Google. We ask only for your email, not your contacts or anything else.
- How you use CrewBid: the contracts you save, hide or mark as bidding, wins and losses you report, which contracts we've emailed you, and the days you sign in.
- Email clicks: links in our weekly email carry a code so we can count how many people click through. We record whether and how often each email was clicked, not what else you do online.
We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in for up to 30 days, short-lived cookies during sign-in, and your browser's storage to remember light or dark mode.
Why we use it
- To match contracts to your trades and areas, and email you the ones that fit.
- To run your dashboard and remember what you're tracking.
- To sign you in, and to keep accounts secure.
- To see whether CrewBid is useful, for example how many people come back each week or report a win. We look at these numbers in total, not to profile individuals.
- To reply when you write to us.
Who we share it with
We share your information only with the services that run CrewBid for us:
- Render hosts the site and database.
- Cloudflare handles our domain and may route traffic to the site.
- Our email delivery provider sends sign-in links and alert emails.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
Some of these services store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be subject to local law. We don't sell or rent your information, and we'll only share it otherwise if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it's open. If you ask us to delete it, we delete your account and activity within 30 days. We keep a record that you unsubscribed so we don't email you again, and a copy of your consent where CASL requires it.
Your choices
- Turn alert emails off in Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Change your trades and areas at any time in Settings.
- Ask to see, correct or delete your information by emailing hello@crewbid.tech. We'll reply within 30 days.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Contract listings
The contracts on CrewBid come from public tender notices. They may name buyers and their contact people, as the original notices do. To ask for a change to a listing, email us.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by email before the change takes effect.
