Using the number
Buyers compare bids on the total they'd pay, so check what the tender asks for: often the base term only, sometimes every option year too. Option years are the buyer's choice, not yours, so plan your crew and equipment on the base term.
Fixed prices for several years carry your wage, fuel and insurance increases. If the tender allows a yearly adjustment (often tied to the consumer price index), use it; if it doesn't, build an increase into your price here.
