Get quotes from IT firms, free

A new website, IT support for the office, a custom app, a network upgrade or a security review. Post it once, IT firms who do that work get it in their alerts, and you choose who to hear from.

How it works

  1. Post the project. What you need, who will use it, and when you need quotes by. A rough budget helps firms size their reply.
  2. IT firms get it. Members who do that kind of work get it in their alerts, usually the same day. Remote work reaches firms across your province and beyond.
  3. Interested firms email you. Each one's business name, the work they do and their note comes to your inbox. You reply to the ones you want to hear more from.

Getting comparable IT quotes

  • Describe the problem and who uses the system, not just the technology. Firms can then suggest the simplest fix.
  • Give a budget range. It is the fastest way to get quotes for the same size of job.
  • Ask who owns the code, the content and the accounts at the end, and how you get your data out.
  • For anything with personal information, ask where data is stored and whether it stays in Canada.
  • Ask for two references from similar organizations, and for ongoing work, a monthly price and response times in writing.

CrewBid lists work and passes along firms' details. You make the contract with the firm you choose.

Questions

What does it cost?

Nothing, for you or for the crews who reply. CrewBid doesn't take a cut, and nobody should ask you for a fee to quote.

Does the firm have to be local?

No. Much IT work can be done remotely. Your request reaches IT firms in your area, and remote-friendly members elsewhere in Canada too. Say if you need someone on site.

What do firms see about us?

Your organization's name, the town and the project. With your own domain email they also see a Verified badge.

What if nobody replies?

Your request stays listed until the date you picked, and you can move the date or change the details. Before you post, the form shows how many crews near you get this kind of work in their alerts.

Can I change or cancel a request?

Yes, any time, from the request's page or My requests. Crews who were tracking it get a note saying what changed.
